Applied Theatre Research

Applied Theatre Research is an international journal that focuses on theater and theatrical practice in non-traditional contexts. It focuses on the application of drama, theater, and performing arts in social contexts and locations such as education, developing countries, business and industry, political debate, and social action, targeting specific audiences or participants. These locations may include streets, conferences, war zones, refugee camps, prisons, hospitals, and village squares, as well as specially constructed stages. The main audience of this journal includes practitioners and scholars of drama, theater, and related arts, as well as educators, teachers, social workers, and community leaders who recognize the importance of drama and theater and are interested in innovative and comprehensive methods in drama production, learning, and community development. The journal encourages contributions from outstanding and experienced workers and scholars in the field, as well as cutting-edge contemporary and experimental works from emerging or lesser known practitioners. This double-blind peer-reviewed journal has global attention and representativeness, with a clear policy to ensure the best and most exciting works are presented in all continents and as many countries as possible, and to recognize cultural, geographical, gender, and socio-economic equity where possible, including in the review committee.
