Established in 1982, Australasian Drama Studies (ADS) is the official journal published by the Association. ADS is a fully peer-reviewed journal which publishes articles, interviews, and production casebooks on world theatre by Australasian and international scholars. The journal also publishes reviews of scholarly books and published play texts.It is an academic journal dedicated to the study of drama, theater, and performance, aiming to fill the gap in the field of Australian drama research. Covering multiple fields such as drama history, performance research, and theater practice. The journal encourages a wide range of research areas, including theatrical history, performing arts, women's theater, LGBTQ+and queer theater, community theater, cross-cultural communication, and dance and body theater in Australia and New Zealand.
