Pacific Historical Review is a scholarly journal dedicated to the study of the history of the Pacific region, with publications that range widely and deeply from cross-cultural and comparative studies to race and ethnicity, imperialism and imperialist history, environmental history, gender and sexuality. The journal is committed to revealing the complexity and diversity of the history and culture of the Pacific region through multidisciplinary and multi-perspective scholarly inquiry.

In particular, the journal emphasizes the importance of cross-cultural and comparative studies, encouraging scholars to explore historical phenomena and issues in the Pacific region from different cultural and historical contexts. This interdisciplinary approach to research contributes to a more comprehensive understanding of the history and culture of the Pacific region and promotes exchanges and cooperation between different academic fields and regions. There is also a special focus on race and ethnicity, exploring the historical experiences and interactions of different races and peoples in the Pacific.
